Porn or Art

I have always felt open about nudity in a way that it is innocent and beautiful. Little baby bottoms or quietly nursing mommas are all part of life and are natural. When I started studying yoga in the 1990's I had a few fellow students complain that I always wore unitards during class and that it was inappropriate. I wore them for a few reasons...one being I came from a dance background where, at the time I felt it was very comfortable wearing leotards and unitards, and two, because I wanted my teachers to see if I was out of alignment. I never thought my dressing this way or that would bother any other student in class.

As I grow older I see all the new yogi's showing their amazing ability through pictures on social media. Many of these beings are wearing sports bras, bikinis and close to showing all skin. They are doing challenging postures in majestic settings. Some people see this as art, beauty. These yoga beings gather many followers and thousands of likes by people around the world admiring, being inspired and enjoying the gifts of talent being shared for them.

Others see it as porn, dirty, and showing off. I say good for everyone for having an opinion, for that is what makes us individuals and truly lucky to be free to have and share our opinions. That being said, art has always pushed the line of indecency but is nudity or close to it pornagrahic? Does it matter under which context or intention things were created for it to be porn or art? Remember we all don't think alike, process alike or create alike. With that being said, we will always have people who see things completely different no matter what. Listen to understand people, not change them. Listen so we can all understand it is ok to see things differently. Porn or art, you decide.
